Las Vegas Raiders: Ranking the top-8 options at quarterback in 2023

No. 4: CJ Stroud

Stroud is either on the same level as Bryce Young or just a hair behind him. Stroud is the clear best Ohio State quarterback in recent memory, as many talented names come to mind when you think of Ohio State prospects.

The knock on Stroud is sometimes he needs to take off and use his legs some more, but with arm talent-wise, he is close to as good as it gets. With the right coaching staff and organization, Stroud could quickly become a top player in the NFL. However, Stroud isn’t going to be available at pick number 7 for the Raiders.

So again, the Raiders would have to move up. Let’s say the Bears can’t find a trade they like, so they go defense with the first pick. The Texans would likely take a quarterback, and with Bryce Young on the board, it’s hard to imagine them going somewhere else. That leaves the Arizona Cardinals in an excellent position to trade back.

The Raiders trade up to the 3rd pick to hop everyone else and select Stroud. Or, the Raiders trade up to the Bears and select Stroud regardless because they like him as a prospect more than anyone else, which isn’t too far-fetched considering reports surfaced earlier in the season that the Raiders loved Stroud.
