Las Vegas Raiders: 3 starters from 2022 who are prime cut candidates
Derek Carr
The biggest name on this list is Derek Carr, the nine-year starter for the Silver and Black who will move on after making the Pro Bowl this past season as an alternate. Carr had many memorable moments in the Silver and Black, but his new extension, signed last offseason, gave the current regime an easy out if they wanted to move on from him.
That became a reality when Carr was shown the bench late in the season, and it has been clear that the two sides are not splitting amicably. Carr has a massive cap hit in 2023, and the team can save over $29 million in cap space if they move on from a player who set nearly every passing record in team history.
According to spotrac.com, if the Raiders bid adieu to these three players, they will have a current cap availability number of $54,934,005. That is more than enough money to get this franchise pointed in the right direction and to stop it from being a team that goes to the playoffs once every decade.
