Casey Hayward, CB, Atlanta Falcons

Staying with former Las Vegas Raiders cornerbacks, we look at the season that was for Casey Hayward. The veteran cornerback came to the Raiders from Los Angeles, where he played outstanding football under Gus Bradley, and followed him to the desert when Bradley signed on to be the team’s defensive coordinator.

With Las Vegas, Hayward was a constant in the Raiders defensive backfield, starting all 17 games, and his 39 solo tackles were the most he had since the 2018 campaign. His nine passes defended were the most in a season for him since 2017, and for a secondary that really struggled, Hayward was one of the few bright spots.

This past offseason, Hayward signed a two-year, $11 million contract with the Atlanta Falcons, and started the first six games of the season. Unfortunately for Hayward, a shoulder injury would land him on injured reserve, ending his season, and it could very well be the last time Falcons fans see him in uniform with the team.
