The Las Vegas Raiders will have a new quarterback under center in 2023, and one key player wants it to be a future Hall of Famer.

For the seventh offseason in a row, most of the news surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders is centered around quarterback Derek Carr. While it is no longer a question of whether or not he will be the team’s starter in 2023, the big questions are now who will be the Raiders starting quarterback next season, and where Carr may end up.

Darren Waller wants Rodgers with the Raiders

We have all seen the reports of Davante Adams trying to lure Aaron Rodgers out of the darkness and into the desert, but now, the Las Vegas Raiders star tight end is throwing his hat in the ring. Speaking at Jay Glazer’s Super Bowl party, Darren Waller had this to say to the future Hall of Famer:

"“If you come, it is gonna be lit.”"

For those unfamiliar with the term, going to be lit is a good thing, and it is clear that more than a few stars want Rodgers to come to Las Vegas and help lead this team back to the playoffs. Waller would more than thrive with Rodgers under center in 2023, as he is currently the only available upgrade from Derek Carr with Tom Brady retiring.

Is Carr headed to the Bayou?

Staying with Carr is the nine-year Raiders starting quarterback headed to the Bayou. It is well documented that No. 4 met with the New Orleans Saints earlier this week for a two-day visit, and the teams apparently have the framework in place for a potential trade.

Carr has a full no-trade clause in his contract, so if he likes New Orleans, he may be more than willing to just get cut and then sign with the team. This would enable the Saints to keep the potential capital they would have to send to Las Vegas to get the quarterback.

This crazy time will not end until Carr finds a new home, and the Raiders close in on whoever will be the team’s starting quarterback in Week 1 next season. There are a ton of offensive weapons in Las Vegas, making it a desirable destination, and soon, we will know which signal-caller is getting them the football.
