Raiders 2023 7-round NFL Mock Draft: What if Aaron Rodgers arrives?

403. . Edge. Chippewas . Thomas Incoom. 174. player

Thomas Incoom is precisely the kind of prospect that you want to target in the later rounds of the draft as he has physical tools and production but there are some concerns about his technique and refinement. We grab the Central Michigan edge rusher with the 174th overall pick and plug him in right away as a situational pass rusher on this defense.

Incoom has good height at 6-4 and is on the lighter side at 265 pounds but did run an impressive 4.69 40 which is in the top 10% at his position group. Some scouts have him as an undrafted free agent but we believe his combination of athleticism and production makes him worthy of a late-round selection.

The former Chippewa is an explosive player who racked up 11.5 sacks and 19 tackles for loss this season, good enough for 3rd and 5th in the country. He has great length and quickness for his position but is described as extremely raw when it comes to his technique. His impressive physical attributes are a great foundation to build upon and if he can develop some reliable pass-rush moves he can make an impact right away.

The Raiders did not have a player they could turn to in obvious pass-rushing situations aside from Maxx Crosby so Incoom could contribute straight away just with pure athleticism and speed. The Raiders need a long-term solution opposite Crosby and taking a swing on a guy like this is a great start.
