The Las Vegas Raiders hope to bring back Josh Jacobs for the 2023 NFL season, and adding a Hall of Fame QB could drive the cost down.

As the news continues to swirl in terms of Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr, there is still plenty of other news surrounding the rest of the team. Las Vegas has a big decision to make in terms of Josh Jacobs, and there is still no definitive Week 1 starter for them in 2023 as we make our way through February.

Here, we look at some of the big happenings around Raider Nation.

Raiders star RB Josh Jacobs to come back for ‘less’

Speaking on the Jim Rome Show, star running back Josh Jacobs tackled a lot of topics, including his pending free agency. He told Rome he would like to be a ‘Raider for Life,’ and wants to be a part of the winning that he hopes to come after so much success statistically.

Jacobs said if the team ‘gets the right pieces’ then he would not mind coming back for less, but it ‘has to make sense.’ Those are strong words from a running back entering his age-25 season, and one who has already rushed for over 1,000 yards three times in four years.

Madd Maxx enters into a leading role with the Raiders

Maxx Crosby did not get much love in terms of the NFL Honors this season, as many felt he should have gotten more Defensive Player of the Year votes. Still, his impact on this Raiders team cannot be understated, as he enters the fifth year of his NFL career as a premier edge rusher.

In Year 5, he will be asked to enter more of a leadership role.

Speaking to “Pro Bowl Live” on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Crosby went into his relationship with Derek Carr, and now that Carr is gone, he knows he will be entering more of a leadership role with the Silver and Black. Since being drafted in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Crosby has been a true leader on the field, and now, he will step into a new role off of it.

Crosby is one of the best young defensive players in the league, and his teammates already love and respect him. He is the face of the Raiders now, and for a franchise that has struggled on defense for so many years, maybe building around No. 98 is the way to go this offseason.
