With the Super Bowl over, it’s now the NFL off-season. With Raiders QB Derek Carr set to be a free agent, these three teams make the most sense.
Hours before the Super Bowl match-up between the Chiefs and Eagles, news broke that Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr would not accept any trades that the team received. Even after Las Vegas reportedly agreed to compensation with New Orleans and the Saints met with Carr, the former franchise quarterback is electing to make it hurt for the Raiders.
So, after nine seasons in the Silver and Black, Carr is a free agent. He leaves the Raiders with a less-than-sterling 63-79 record. However, he is also the owner of every important passing record in team history with career marks in passing yards and touchdowns.
While he is certainly not blameless in the losses over the last several seasons, no one would mistake his defenses for anything but a liability. As such, he has a reputation as a player who is capable of achieving more if he was surrounded by a better team.
For the first time, he will have a chance to choose his team in 2023. With plenty of suitors expected for the likely best quarterback available, these three teams are likely to be on Carr’s radar this spring.
