Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is about to hit free agency, but what would he really be worth after a tough 2022 NFL season?

It seems as if it’s all but a foregone conclusion that Derek Carr will be released by the Raiders. Las Vegas is in a position where they have to cut their former QB1 by the 15th of February if they can’t find a suitable trade partner, one that Carr would waive his no-trade clause for by the way, to avoid owing him close to $40 million.

The reason it’s all but a done deal that they will have to cut him is that it recently came out that Derek Carr has stated he will not waive his no-trade clause for any potential suitors. According to beat writer Vincent Bonsignore, the Saints were the only team interested and also wanted Carr to take a pay cut to facilitate the trade.

So with the recent news of Carr not waiving his clause, and the Raiders’ imminent release of the 9-year veteran, one might ask what he would even garner on the open market as a free agent. Seeing as how Raider Nation will soon no longer be able to argue about Derek Carr as their lead quarterback, let’s dive into the argument of what his skills might value at, as Derek Carr looks to move on to the next chapter of his career.
