2023 NFL Draft: Day 2 cornerbacks the Raiders should target

Deonte Banks, Maryland

A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Deonte Banks played his college ball at the University of Maryland, though injuries and COVID derailed his career a bit. However, when he was healthy and on the field, he was one of the best cornerbacks in the Big Ten, capping his career by being named to the Honorable Mention team this past season.

The thing to like about Banks is his size, as he has enough of it to be a boundary cornerback at the next level. When it comes to shutting down the big play, he is also one of the best in the country, as he did not allow a single completion over 30 yards this past season, and was ranked No. 18 overall by Pro Football Focus in completion percentage against.

Banks is someone who could fall to the Raiders in the second or third round, as nobody has a first-round grade on him right now. Based on his potential, size, and athletic abilities, Banks is someone who could come in on Day 2 and fight for at least a rotational role in this defensive backfield as a rookie.
