The Las Vegas Raiders are moving on from Derek Carr this offseason, and one possible destination for him, New York, would be a nightmare.
Derek Carr has been a mainstay for the Raiders franchise for the past nine seasons, starting for the team at the quarterback position from his rookie season on. Throughout that time, Carr and the Raiders struggled to put together wins, and in the end, he did not mesh with the new head coach, Josh McDaniels.
So when the season came down the stretch, McDaniels and his staff decided to bench Carr, keeping him healthy enough to avoid him being their quarterback in 2023. On the deadline of Carr’s 2023 salary becoming guaranteed, a salary that would have paid him over $40 million, the Raiders cut No. 4, ending his career with the Silver and Black.
Now, the team has to decide what to do with the position, but Carr also must decide where he wants to play football in the future. He has been rumored to be in the mix for a few NFC South teams, including the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints, but could he be headed to the Big Apple?
Here, we look at why that would be a wrong decision by Carr and his team.
