Las Vegas Raiders: New York Jets a nightmare destination for Derek Carr
Why New York is not the place for Carr
While Derek Carr has shown to have serious guts on the field, leading the Raiders to countless fourth-quarter comebacks in his career, he does have his issues. The biggest of which is his inability to play consistent football in cold weather, and MetLife Stadium has a reputation for being a windy and cold place to play.
There is also the fact that Carr has had his issues with the media, sometimes seeming standoffish when challenged on some of his play. In New York, you can multiply the media presence by ten, as well as the local radio shows, so he will be under the microscope way more than he was as a member of the Raiders franchise.
In the end, Carr would be best suited to going to Carolina or New Orleans for his next stop, as the weather is better, and in the Bayou, he would be playing inside a dome. Carr is a talented quarterback and is certainly going to be a Week 1 starter somewhere next season, but if it is New York, he could struggle in a big way, especially once the weather turns.
