Las Vegas Raiders: New York Jets a nightmare destination for Derek Carr

Carr meeting with the Jets

Carr is scheduled to meet with the New York Jets this weekend, and for both sides, it would seem like a perfect fit on some level. The Jets cannot go into next season with Zach Wilson as their starting quarterback, as Wilson needs more time to develop, and Robert Saleh cannot afford another losing season.

Then there is Carr, who is looking to make a statement in his first season away from Las Vegas, and would be joining a franchise that is very close to being a perennial playoff contender. There are exciting weapons on the Jets’ offense, including wide receiver Garrett Wilson, while the defense could end up being one of the best in football.

New York nearly made the playoffs last season trotting out guys like Joe Flacco, Mike White, and Wilson as their quarterback, so Carr would be a significant upgrade over those guys. However, while it looks good on the surface, those of us who have covered the veteran quarterback know that New York could not be a worse fit for him.
