Las Vegas Raiders 7-round 2023 NFL Mock Draft: Post-Super Bowl LVII edition
214. Andrei Iosivas WR Princeton
You can never have enough speed at wide receiver and the Raiders double down on big-body receivers with blazing speed by grabbing Andre Iosivas out of Princeton with the 214th overall pick. There are not many former Ivy League players in the NFL but the Raiders had one in 2022 in Jesper Horstead that they can ask about Iosivas before the draft.
Iosivas was one of the standout players at the Senior Bowl as he showed off his elite speed and athleticism against some top-tier competition. After a year on Princeton’s JV team and a bit role in 2019, Iosivas became the Tigers’ leading receiver and put up 105 catches for 1600 yards and 12 touchdowns over his final two seasons.
The Hawaii native is an elite athlete and made Bruce Feldman’s Freak’s List – ranked #15. Feldman wrote “In track, he finished fourth in the country in the heptathlon and ran the fastest 60 in NCAA heptathlon history (6.71). Iosivas bench pressed 370 pounds this month and has vertical-jumped 39 inches. His 60-yard dash time would, by his own estimation, translate into a 4.2-something 40, but he points out that it was also out of the blocks and on a track, so maybe not”.
If this young man continues to impress in the days leading up to the draft, he may not be around at this point but for now, we take advantage of the other teams’ oversight and grab the stud athlete at the tail end of the draft. His 4.29 40 time is downright scary much less on a guy that measures in at 6-3 and 200lbs.
We can see him come in and contribute right away on special teams and even just as a speedy decoy that defenses always have to account for.
