Las Vegas Raiders 7-round 2023 NFL Mock Draft: Post-Super Bowl LVII edition
233. Kemari Averett TE Bethune Cookman
The Raiders use their final pick of the 2023 draft on a potential diamond in the rough in tight end Kemari Averett out of Bethune Cookman. Averiett started his college career at Louisville where he was a bit part player before transferring to Bethune Cookman where he became a reliable target and all-conference star for the Wildcats.
The Atlanta native measures in at an impressive 6-6 and 260lbs and he’s projected to run a 40-yard dash in the 4.6 to 4.7 range. He may have to improve that 40 time to get drafted but for now, he looks like a solid project player to be snatched up in the 7th round by a team that loves to use multiple tight end sets.
In two seasons with the Wildcats, Averett put up 91 catches for 1,326 yards and 17 touchdowns. He routinely beat up on smaller DBs with his size advantage and made contested catches look routine. The Raiders will ask him to block more than he may be used to but he has the body type and size to be an effective blocker at the NFL level.
