The Las Vegas Raiders have some talented players returning in 2023, and these three non-starters could be in for a bigger role in 2023.
Looking ahead to the 2023 NFL season, the Las Vegas Raiders have a ton of work to do in terms fo the roster. They have a ton of players entering free agency, but they do have the cap space needed to make a real impact there, as well as having some outstanding draft capital.
While Las Vegas has over 20 players entering free agency, those still on the roster will have to prove their worth this offseason. Here, we look at four current Raiders who could have an expanded role next season.
4 Las Vegas Raiders players who could see an expanded role in 2023
Neil Farrell Jr., Defensive Tackle
We start along the defensive line, where the Raiders had a revolving door at the defensive tackle spot last season. The funny thing about that is, they did a lot of work to revamp the unit during the offseason, adding talent via free agency, and two rookies in the 2022 NFL Draft in Neil Farrell Jr. and Matthew Butler, both of whom had subpar rookie campaigns.
For Farrell Jr., taken in the fourth round, the 2023 season could be one where he sees some extended playing time if he can put a good offseason together. He has all the talent you look for in a defensive tackle, and if he can remain healthy, Patrick Graham must find a role for him, capitalizing on his ability to stop the run.
