Zamir White, Running Back
A lot of the talk surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason will revolve around Josh Jacobs, who put on an incredible performance during the 2022 campaign. Not only was Jacobs one of the few constants on this Raiders offense, but he proved to be arguably the best young running back in the game, leading the league in both rushing yards, and yards per scrimmage.
His breakout season led to rookie Zamir White seeing very limited playing time, something that could change next season. Las Vegas is likely to bring Jacobs back on at least a franchise tag, so he will return, but White, who rushed only 17 times for 70 yards in Year 1, is going to have an extended role, especially in the red zone.
Nicknamed “Zeus,” White has that downhill style of running that the Raiders love, and while Jacobs far exceeded expectations in 2022, a new contract could lead to the team being a bit more cautious with how many carries he gets. There is a lot to like about White’s ability to run the ball, and catch it out of the backfield, so expect him to tote the rock on way more occasions than he did as a rookie.
