2023 NFL Draft: Top-3 positions the Las Vegas Raiders must target at No. 7
2023 NFL Draft: Top-3 positions the Las Vegas Raiders must target at No. 7
#2: Quarterback
This might not be the most popular opinion but hear me out. The Raiders currently sit at the number seven overall pick in the draft. That puts them right in the middle of this purgatory position of probably not getting one of the top 2 guys, while also having to put all your eggs in the Will Levis basket as a top 10 pick. For the sake of this article, we aren’t taking into account trading up or doing any type of moving in general. We’re staying pat with their current overall position.
Right now, the rumor is that the Raiders could be in the running to land Aaron Rodgers via trade. This whole slideshow could be rendered useless if this pick is involved in any trade, but that has yet to be seen. We should know more in the coming days when Rodgers finally comes out of the darkness.
The Packers are on the record that they’re willing to trade him if the situation is right. Current WR1 Davante Adams is also already tweeting out that Rodgers is going to buy a house in his neighborhood, so the speculation and rumor mill are running rampant these days.
Quarterback comes in at number two because it is the most important position on the football field, so you have to have a plan in place. The Raiders aren’t as down and out as people think though if they have to roll with Jarrett Stidham at QB1 for the 2023 season. If you don’t want to sell the farm to ensure getting a top-2 guy this year and you’re willing to gamble on landing Rodgers or rocking Stidham, a rookie quarterback can potentially wait until next year.
