Las Vegas Raiders: Top-25 players of the Derek Carr Era

No. 2: Maxx Crosby, DE (2019-present)

In a draft that saw the Raiders franchise pick a defensive end with the No. 4 overall pick, it was a Day 3 defensive end that ended up being the superstar. Since being drafted in the fourth round out of Eastern Michigan by the Raiders, Maxx Crosby has become one of the best young defensive players in the game and is on the doorstep of being an all-time great for this franchise.

It did not take Crosby long to get used to the NFL game, as he racked up ten sacks as a rookie, including a four-sack performance against the Cincinnati Bengals. That was just a glimpse of what was to come from No. 98, as he not only overcame an alcohol addiction, as he will enjoy three years sober this March, but he also has become nearly unstoppable between the white lines.

Turn on any Raiders game throughout the season and you will see Crosby seemingly getting held on every play. Despite that, and the double-teams, he has racked up 37.5 sacks across his first four seasons in the league, and based on his growth, and age, he could end up being the Raiders’ all-time sacks leader if he stays with the franchise long enough.
