Las Vegas Raiders: Top-25 players of the Derek Carr Era
No. 23: Jalen Richard, RB (2016-2021)
The Raiders franchise brought Jalen Richard in as an undrafted free agent from Southern Mississippi in 2016, and he would go on to be a real playmaker for the franchise. During his time at Southern Miss., Richard became a touchdown machine, finding the end zone 15 times during his senior season.
With the Raiders, it did not take him long to score his first NFL touchdown, as he raced 75 yards against the New Orleans Saints on his first carry for a score. Playing with the Raiders for six seasons, Richard proved to be a threat in the run game, and in the passing attack, hauling in 68 catches during the 2018 season alone.
After a strong four-season run with the Raiders, Richard signed a two-year extension in 2020, but his final two seasons were marred by injury and COVID. Still, he racked up nearly 3,000 yards from scrimmage in the Silver and Black, and those who watched the team in those years know what kind of player he was.
