Las Vegas Raiders: Top-25 players of the Derek Carr Era

No. 18: Latavius Murray, RB (2013-2016)

During the 2013 NFL Draft, the Raiders selected UCF running back Latavius Murray in the sixth round, stashing him for his rookie season on injured reserve. In 2014, the first season of the Derek Carr era, Murray worked his way up the depth chart, but by the end of the season, had established himself as the feature back for the franchise.

The 2015 campaign would be his first in that role, and he put together an outstanding season, rushing for over 1,000 yards, and being named to his first, and only, Pro Bowl. Murray followed up the 2015 season with 12 rushing touchdowns in 2016, capping a solid three-year run as the team’s starting running back.

All told, Murray rushed for over 2,200 yards in those three seasons, which is impressive considering he only had 31 starts. Since leaving the franchise, he has bounced around a bit, landing in Minnesota, New Orleans, Baltimore, and Denver, but has never enjoyed the kind of success he had with the  Raiders franchise.
