Las Vegas Raiders: Top-25 players of the Derek Carr Era

No. 8: Amari Cooper, WR (2015-2018)

The Raiders franchise has long been known for being one that misses in the first round, but they hit a home run in 2014, drafting Khalil Mack out of the University of Buffalo, and then added another stellar player the following year in 2015 in Amari Cooper from Alabama.

Cooper was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Raiders, and it did not take him long to get used to the NFL game, dominating from Day 1. In fact, Cooper burst onto the scene and put together a 1,000-yard season as a rookie, making it to the Pro Bowl, and finishing third in the Rookie of the Year voting.

Cooper followed up his rookie season with another 1,000-yard campaign in 2016, making the Pro Bowl once again, and establishing himself as one of the best young wideouts in the game. His production took a bit of a dip in 2017, and with the arrival of Jon Gruden, he was seen as overpaid, getting traded away during the 2018 season for a first-round pick.
