Las Vegas Raiders: Recent mocks drafts show no clear favorite at No. 7

Chris Trapasso, CBS

First-round mock drafts are the norm, so CBS decided to level up with a two-round mock draft courtesy of Chris Trapasso. And he has the Raiders going offense, but not at the position most would think.

At pick seven, he has the Raiders selecting TCU’s Quentin Johnston to go opposite Davante Adams.

"“The Raiders are thin at receiver behind Davante Adams and Hunter Renfrow. Johnston is a long, vertical weapon who excels after the catch.”"

If the Raiders do go offense, most analysts have them going quarterback or offensive line, but in true Al Davis fashion, this would be a build-on-strength move. Johnston would ideally take over for Mack Hollins as the big-body receiver, but Johnston would provide a bit more speed down the field.

Then in the second round, Trapasso addresses the offensive line with Okalhoma’s Anton Harrison. The Sooners have produced some of the best linemen in the NFL, such as Trent Williams, Lane Johnson, Orlando Brown, and Creed Humphrey, so they are a good bet.

This past Super Bowl showed that elite offense will win most of the time, so the Raiders will need to continue to invest in that side of the ball, especially with Patrick Mahomes being in the division.
