Raiders 7-round 2023 NFL Mock Draft: QB, 2024 first-round pick, and more
In the sixth round, we turn our focus to grab a replacement for Foster Moreau who is likely on his way out of town in free agency. Moreau served as the backup to Darren Waller for the entirety of his NFL career, and with his size and speed, he is likely to find a TE1 spot somewhere next season.
To replace him, we take a look at Will Mallory out of Miami, who is a bit smaller than Moreau, but he runs well for his size with a 4.59 40-yard dash and is a slightly above-average blocker. That would make him a perfect player to slide in behind Waller, who many expect to have a monster season after two years of dealing with injuries in 2021 and 2022.
Mallory was at Miami for five years and had his best season in 2022 with 42 catches for 542 yards. He will need to work on his blocking if he’s going to be a second tight end in this offense but his athleticism makes him an intriguing option for the Raiders.
