Raiders 7-round 2023 NFL Mock Draft: QB, 2024 first-round pick, and more

The fifth round is where the Raiders grabbed several selections by trading down with both Tampa Bay and Green Bay. The Raiders swapped picks 143 and 233 4 picks 155 and 75 with the Bucs and traded pick 149 for picks 151 and 2:59 with the Packers.

player. 817. . Cornerback. Tigers . Mekhi Garner. 146

We use the first of these fifth-round picks on cornerback Mekhi Garner out of LSU. Garner is a bigger corner at 6-2 and 220 pounds and is a guy that has great ball skills and fluidity to go with his size. He is a willing tackler and has the size to match any physical wide receiver or tight end in space.

Unfortunately, Garner does not have elite speed as his last forty time was measured at 4.59 seconds but he is a smart and experienced player who will bring some toughness to the Raiders’ secondary. We could see a position switch to safety in his future but even if not, his size makes him an intriguing addition to the Raider defense.
