No. 14: Curtis Lofton, Linebacker (3yr-$18M)
Before signing with the Raiders franchise, linebacker Curtis Lofton was considered by many to be a real Iron Man of the sport. In fact, in the six seasons before coming to Oakland, Lofton had not missed a single game, displaying the kind of availability, and production that made this an exciting signing at the time.
However, all of that changed after he signed his three-year/$18 million deal with the Silver and Black, as he was a shell of himself. Lofton would be with the franchise for exactly one calendar year, as he signed on March 11, 2015, and was released on March 11, 2016, after failing a physical, something that was shocking considering how durable he had been throughout his NFL career.
In the six seasons leading up to his arrival with the Raiders, Lofton had racked up over 100 tackles in each campaign and forced at least one fumble. In his one season with the Raiders, Lofton had a career-low 64 tackles, did not force a fumble, and was really only used as a rotational linebacker during that 2015 NFL season.
