Las Vegas Raiders: Top-3 stopgap options at QB for 2023

Jacoby Brissett

Another former Patriots draft pick during the Josh McDaniels era, Brissett has much more experience than Stidham. After starting three games for the Patriots in 2016, he was traded to the Colts where he started fifteen games. He would return to the bench the following season but would be called upon to start another fifteen games in Indianapolis in 2019.

Most recently, he was asked to be the Cleveland Browns starter last season while franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson served his suspension for sexual assault. Through eleven games, the team would go 4-7 while Brissett posted a stat line of 2,608 passing yards, twelve touchdowns, and six interceptions. He would add an additional 243 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

The prototypical bridge quarterback, Brissett would be a good fit for Las Vegas in the event they draft a quarterback. Good enough to help the team win games in the short term, but leaves enough to be desired so that there is no quarterback controversy.

Brissett is a thirty-year-old free-agent passer who is searching for his fifth team. Once again, he is a player who will more than likely come quite cheap but has experience in the offense that he can pass onto a rookie.
