Raiders: Which 2023 NFL Draft QB is best to come in and replace Derek Carr?

It is, in fact, Bryce Young out of Alabama.

What’s going to help restart this Raiders organization is a quarterback who can make plays from breakdowns.

I don’t personally love the strategy of throwing the quarterback out there and telling him to “make a play out of nothing” like Kyler Murray, Justin Fields, and Deshaun Watson have done in recent years, but considering the mix of talent this year at the position coupled with the coaching the Raiders currently have on offense, the best fit in my opinion is going to be Bryce Young who can escape the pressure and make plays out of nothing.

That backyard style of running around the backfield, dodging would-be tacklers, and waiting for somebody to get open really jumps out to me when I think about Bryce Young potentially getting into the Silver and Back jerseys.

Young may be the smallest of the three quarterbacks I just talked about by a lot, but he seems very much to me like the most polished prospect who’s going to take care of the football, not shy away from big moments, and be able to carry an offense with inconsistencies.

I believe everything has to be perfect and the coaching has to elevate Stroud, Levis, and Richardson while with Young, he won’t necessarily need everything to be perfect because he’s so natural at the position that he can figure out ways to make plays and keep drives alive.

I get it, he’s small.

I get it, he’s not the most athletic of the bunch.

He doesn’t have the arm talent or ceiling that Levis and Richardson have.

But for a team like the Raiders that would benefit to go the “stability” route and not gamble on a project quarterback, I see no better option than Bryce Young if they can land him somehow.
