Raiders 2023 NFL Draft: Tyree Wilson wants to be a Raider

Wilson wants to be a Raider

During his press conference at the Combine, Wilson dropped a tidbit that should have Raider Nation excited. “Like I told the Raiders staff if I get to join Maxx Crosby that would be two great pass rushers.”

With the seventh overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, there is a chance Wilson is available when Las Vegas is on the clock. While it definitely seems as if it is a pairing both parties would be interested in, much will hinge on the team’s plans at quarterback.

If the team does elect to add to the defense in round one, you couldn’t ask for much more than a player of Wilson’s caliber at number seven.

The truth is, Crosby is one of the best edge rushers in the NFL, and the team has tried to match him with some talent across the last few off-seasons. In 2022, they added Chandler Jones as one of their big free agent signings, but that experiment did not work out, so maybe they look to turn the page on him and go with a younger player like Wilson in 2023.
