Las Vegas Raiders 2023 7-round NFL Mock Draft: Combine Week edition

222. Dee Winters LB TCU

The Raiders use another late-round pick on a slightly undersized linebacker with great speed and coverage ability in Dee Winters out of TCU. Winters measures in at 5-11 and 227 pounds which is a bit small for the position but his forty time at 4.49 seconds is in the 95th percentile which is excellent.

Winters is a former three-star recruit that made his way to TCU and spent four years with the Horned Frogs where he became one of the leaders on the defense. TCU was one of the best teams in college football this season and Winters was a big reason why.

He recorded 51 tackles, 13 QB hurries, and an impressive 9 sacks on the season for the swarming Horned Frogs defense.

The Texas native plays bigger than his listed size and his explosive speed allows him to make plays in the backfield and from sideline to sideline. We don’t expect him to hold up well at the point of attack because of his small size but he can be an effective weak-side linebacker and be an immediate contributor on special teams.
