Las Vegas Raiders 2023 7-round NFL Mock Draft: Combine Week edition

242. Jaylon Thomas, OL, SMU

*Acquired via trade with NYG

As we get closer to the end of the draft we are able to focus on positions like offensive guard and offensive tackle where value can still be found even with the 242nd overall pick. With this selection, we grab offensive lineman Jaylon Thomas out of SMU.

Thomas is a fifth-year senior who spent all five years with the Mustangs and played several positions on the offensive line including left tackle, left guard, and right guard. He projects at the NFL level as a right tackle due to his size and strength as he measures in at 6-5 and 311 pounds. He ran a 40-yard dash in 5.03 seconds which is good enough for the 93rd percentile and is a player that is climbing up draft boards as we speak.

The former Mustang is known for being excellent in pass protection and has the long arms that you need to block those pesky edge rushers out in space. He already has the requisite size for the right type of position but the aforementioned experience at guard will allow him to plug in wherever he is needed on the offensive line.
