Raiders 2023 7-round NFL Mock Draft: Trades bring 16 picks, multiple QBs?
Las Vegas Raiders 2023 7-round NFL Mock Draft: Combine Week edition
218. Juice Scruggs OC Penn State
*Acquired via trade with NYG
The Raiders offensive line was one of the weaknesses of the team in 2023 so we continue to use some of these late-round picks to find high-value players that can contribute immediately. We use the 218th overall pick on one of the guys with the coolest names in this draft in Juice Scruggs out of Penn State.
Scruggs is a talented interior offensive lineman with solid size at 6-3 and 308 pounds and a wingspan in the 96th percentile at his position. His forty time of 5.10 seconds is in the 82nd percentile so he is a solid athlete for the position.
He played all three interior offensive line positions at Penn State but primarily played center as a senior in 2022.
Scouts rave about his ability to get off the snap quickly and win at the point of attack though they do have some concerns about his strength against some of the larger defensive linemen in the NFL. They do not consider him elite in any single area but he is talented enough to become a long-term starter or reliable backup which is a good value at this point in the draft.
The Raiders may move on from center Andre James and start Dylan Parham at center but this selection of Scruggs gives them another potential option at that position in case of injury.
