Raiders 7-round 2023 NFL Mock Draft: Post-Scouting Combine Edition
215. Atonio Mafi, IOL UCLA
This is not the first time we have mocked Antonio Mafi out of UCLA to the Raiders and it likely won’t be the last, especially with offensive guard being a position of need. Mafi is one of our favorite players in this draft class and he is a versatile interior offensive lineman who can play both guard positions with ease.
The former Bruin has a stout build at 6-4 and nearly 340 lbs and he has a mean streak that all NFL teams look for in their interior offensive lineman. Josh McDaniels prefers heftier offensive linemen due to his power running scheme and Mafi is a great fit in that regard. He may struggle a bit against faster pass rushers, especially on the edge but the Raiders would be bringing him in to play guard and not tackle.
There are some concerns about Mafi’s agility and speed, especially when pulling but he could benefit from some coaching and the benefits of an NFL speed training program. The most important characteristic Mafi possesses is his attitude and mean streak which is something that cannot be taught.
