Raiders 7-round 2023 NFL Mock Draft: Post-Scouting Combine Edition

224. Connor Galvin OT Baylor

If the Raiders are in the market for a big and athletic right tackle then Connor Galvin out of Baylor would be a great selection at this point in the draft. Galvin has great size at 6-6 and 293 lbs though he could stand to gain a little more weight to hold up against the bigger pass rushers in the NFL.

The former Baylor Bear showed off some athleticism with a 30-inch vertical at the combine though his 40 time of 5.48 was not all that impressive. In any case, 40 times for offensive linemen are not the best measure of their athleticism, and technique and strength matter more than pure speed anyway.

The 5th-year senior played primarily at left tackle at Baylor so it would take some coaching up to play him on the right but he could act as a swing tackle in the meantime. Scouts believe he is one of the smarter players in the draft and is a coordinated athlete for his size so the transition to the next level should be smooth.

They do feel he needs some coaching in terms of technique but there is a great foundation to build upon due to his size and intelligence.
