Raiders 7-round 2023 NFL Mock Draft: Post-Scouting Combine Edition
144. Trey Palmer WR Nebraska
After Trey Palmer ran a 4.33 second 40 in the NFL Combine, the connection and mocks to the Raiders became almost immediate. Former owner Al Davis was known for always drafting the fastest players available and he would have loved what Palmer brings to the table.
After the loss of Henry Ruggs, the Raiders’ offense lacked a true deep threat and Palmer can bring back that element of speed to this team. He measures in at a solid 6-0 and 192 lb and has legitimate track speed as he was a state champion in the 200-meter dash in high school.
The main concern about Palmer is that he is not physical enough to hold up in the NFL but you can’t hit what you can’t catch. He will also need to work on his route running as he ran a limited route tree in Nebraska but his initial contributions for the Raiders could be simply to stretch the opposing defense.
A team may fall in love with his speed and grab him earlier than this slot but for the most part, there seems to be a consensus that he is a Day 3 talent.
