Raiders 7-round 2023 NFL Mock Draft: Post-Scouting Combine Edition

70. Owen Pappoe LB Auburn

After drafting a stout defensive lineman, the Raiders opt to draft a Denzel Perryman replacement with the 70th overall pick in Owen Pappoe out of Auburn. The Raiders were unable to come to a deal with Perryman and he has hit free agency though he could always of course come back to Las Vegas.

Pappoe was another star of the NFL combine as he ran a 4.39 second 40 while measuring in at 6-0 and 225 lbs. He is considered a bit undersized at the linebacker position but in this modern NFL, you need Speedy backers that can chase receivers and running backs out of the backfield.

The former Auburn Tiger has some deficiencies in his game which are primarily mental but he has the physical tools necessary to be a very productive NFL player. He is extremely strong for his size, which we learned when he did 29 reps on the bench press, and his speed would be a major asset on the Raiders’ defense.
