The Las Vegas Raiders continue to stack cap space heading into a 2023 free agency season that will revamp the roster in a big way.

The 2023 free agency frenzy will kick off next week, and for the Las Vegas Raiders, you can expect them to be big players in it. Not only do they have dozens of their own players expected to hit free agency, but they also have a bunch of holes to fill, and now, they have the cap space to do so.

With the team moving on from Derek Carr, the franchise finds itself in a position to revamp this roster in a big way over the next few months. That would allow them to stack elite talent around their elite players, including Maxx Crosby, who helped the team out in a big way this weekend.

As Field Yates from ESPN tweeted out on Saturday, Crosby continued to be a team guy, restructuring his deal to free up over $7 million in cap space. With that move, Las Vegas now has over $45 million in cap space to play with this free agency season, putting them in a position they have not been in for quite some time.

Las Vegas has needs on both sides of the ball, and luckily for them, there are a ton of elite players set to hit free agency as other teams try to get under the salary cap.

Raiders should make a big impact in free agency

This will only be David Ziegler’s second season as general manager, and not only does he have to pull off some big free agency deals, but he also must capitalize on the first Day 1 pick of his tenure. With Las Vegas clearing so much money to spend in free agency, you have to think they have some big-time players in mind, and will likely swing for the fences after a six-win season a year ago.

With Crosby restructuring his deal, and some cuts likely coming once the new league year kicks off, I would expect the Silver and Black to have over $50 million to play with this free-agency season. That is more than enough money to bring in some impact players as the team tries to get back to being a legitimate playoff contender in the AFC.
