The Las Vegas Raiders are preparing for their Week 6 matchup against the Buffalo Bills, and it will be the Silver and Black’s attempt to get back on track after two straight losses.
The Bills are 4-1 and one of the best teams in football. However, the team has weaknesses, ranking 30th in defensive EPA heading into the game. It could be a chance to bounce back on offense after last week.
Offensively, the Bills are a juggernaut and rank first in EPA. It will be hard to slow this offense, but let’s look at the keys to victory in Week 6.
Raiders’ keys to victory for Week 6
Las Vegas must force turnovers
Even with the Bills having one of the NFL's best offenses, they turn the ball over at a high rate. The Bills have nine turnovers this season and have lost five fumbles in 2026.
This means the Raiders have to make sure they are punching the ball. The Los Angeles Rams forced three turnovers last week. Two were peanut-punch style, with linebackers knowing the ball was out of James Cook’s hands.
Cook has four fumbles already and 10 since 2025. It is the easiest way for the Raiders to steal this game and pull off an upset at home.
Raiders have to fix the running game
One of the best ways to slow down the Bills' high-powered offense is to keep them off the field. The best way to do that is by running the football. While the Raiders have struggled there, this game could help them fix it.
The Bills have allowed 16 runs of 10 yards or more this season. Their struggles against the run have shown themselves all year, and the Raiders have to take advantage.
With Ashton Jeanty saying he is healthy, he has to step up and make the most of this opportunity.
Raiders defense has to keep Josh Allen in the pocket
Quarterback Josh Allen is one of the league's best quarterbacks. The 2024 NFL MVP went off the ground last week against the Rams. The Raiders have to be ready and keep him in the pocket.
The Raiders need to do the opposite of what the Rams did. The Rams did not stay in their rush lanes and let Allen run all over the field. He rushed for 120 yards in Week 5, and the Raiders will lose if this happens.
107 of those yards came on scrambles. The Raiders' priority has to be to keep him in the pocket and stay honest in their rush lanes.
