Now that the preseason is officially behind us, it is time to start evaluating what the Las Vegas Raiders will look like for the 2026 NFL season. Roster cutdown day will hone the scope, as only 53 players will be on this team in just a few short days.
But before we dive too far into that, let's take a step back and analyze all that took place in the final game of the exhibition slate against the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday. And more specifically, let's highlight a handful of players who may have just played their final game in the Silver and Black.
While several departures, like a good portion of the rookie UDFA class, would be low-hanging fruit, we have dug a bit deeper to find five players who have either been on the team for a few years or once showed promise that fans may have now seen the last of in Las Vegas, at least as a Raider.
5 Raiders who may have suited up in Silver & Black for final time vs. 49ers
1. Deven Thompkins, WR
Thompkins was a late addition, but he quickly made a solid impression, parlaying a strong training camp into a good showing in the first preseason game. But he also made a few mistakes along the way, and he couldn't quite keep up the positive momentum. Klint Kubiak seems to like him, and John Spytek has a prior relationship with him, so maybe he sticks around on the practice squad.
2. Atonio Mafi, G
Mafi has been on this team for over a year now, and he played in three games in 2025, even starting two. But he's really disappointed this preseason, and with better health and an influx of young talent at guard, there's no real reason to keep him around. Again, Mafi would be a practice squad candidate, but someone like Will Putnam or a younger player may take that role now after some preseason woes.
3. Treven Ma'ae, DT
Ma'ae narrowly missed the 53-man roster at this time last year, but he didn't look like the same player during this season's exhibition schedule. He got pushed around a lot up front and didn't get after the quarterback, so he has no chance of making the team in Las Vegas. The Raiders saw much more from other young players this preseason, too, so he may not even make the practice squad.
4. Phillip Dorsett II, WR
Dorsett is the elder statesman in this wide receiver room, and he has been with the Silver and Black for over a year. But with a handful of young players at his position worthy of developing, Dorsett can't hold on to a practice squad spot once again. He was never in the running to make the active roster, so it'd be a complete shock to see him hang around Las Vegas in any capacity for the 2026 season.
5. Decamerion Richardson, CB
Perhaps this is a bit too spicy, but hear me out. Richardson may still make this 53-man roster, but if he doesn't, I don't think he returns to the Raiders. I'm not saying he'll get claimed on the waiver wire, but with no real shot at upward mobility, Richardson and his camp may want to find another destination. He'd be a fine practice squad player or sixth corner, but he may want more of a chance than that.
