The Las Vegas Raiders may be shorthanded at wide receiver going into their Week 5 matchup against the New England Patriots. Jalen Nailor exited the previous game after a helmet-to-helmet hit and is in concussion protocol. Keep in mind Jack Bech is on injured reserve with a broken forearm.

On Monday, Klint Kubiak told reporters that "all things will be considered" regarding help at wide receiver.

Kubiak can't be satisfied with the overall production from the receiver room. Among the top players at the position, Tre Tucker has had one standout game, hauling in five passes for 119 yards and a touchdown against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2.

So, to the drawing board we go for our Week 5 NFL scouting list for the Silver and Black.

Week 5 Raiders' scouting report focuses on trades and a signing that can bolster the receiver corps

Trade: Jerry Jeudy, WR, Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns selected KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston in the first and second rounds of this year's draft. The former has seen a steady increase in snaps, and the latter has started in all four of the team's games.

Meanwhile, Jerry Jeudy has become an afterthought in the Browns' offense. He's fallen out of the starting rotation and has finished two games without a reception.

Cleveland invested in a youth movement at receiver, and Jeudy doesn't fit into that plan. The Raiders should inquire about the 27-year-old who's only two years removed from his 2024 Pro Bowl campaign.

Trade: Tory Horton, WR Seattle Seahawks

Kubiak can target a familiar face to fill a void in the passing attack and develop for the long term.

Second-year pro Tory Horton made an early career splash, catching 13 passes for 161 yards and five touchdowns and returning a 95-yard punt for a score in his first seven games. As a big-play receiver, he's scored three of six receiving touchdowns from outside the red zone.

Horton suffered a shin injury that derailed his rookie campaign. So far this season, he's caught four passes for 54 yards and a touchdown, but he's the No. 4 receiver on the Seattle Seahawks depth chart behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Rashid Shaheed and Cooper Kupp.

Horton could pick up where he left off in Kubiak's offense, but with a bigger role in Las Vegas.

Signing: K.J. Osborn, WR, Tennessee Titans' practice squad

Kubiak can dig deep in his Rolodex and reunite with K.J. Osborn, who served as his No. 3 receiver with the Minnesota Vikings in 2021. That year, Osborn caught 50 passes for 655 yards and seven touchdowns from Kirk Cousins.

After Kubiak left Minnesota, Osborn caught 48-plus passes for 540-plus yards in 2022 and 2023, scoring eight touchdowns in that span. He's on the Tennessee Titans' practice squad and could provide a short-term boost until the Raiders' receiver corps is back at full strength.
