The Raiders had great success with the last Alabama running back they selected and with both Josh Jacobs and Ameer Abdullah currently free agents, they grab another one late in the 2024 NFL Draft. With the 220th overall pick, the Raiders select Jase McClellan from the Crimson Tide. .

McClellan is a well built back at 5-11 and 212lbs who may lack top end speed but makes up for it with an elite vertical of 40 inches and a shuttle time of 4.02 seconds, both in the 97th percentile for the position. He spent the last two seasons with Bama as a change of pace back but still put up big numbers despite the part time role.

In ’22 and ’23 he combined for 292 carries for 1,545 yards and 8 touchdowns while also making 30 catches for 310 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The Texas native has all the tools you look for in a modern running back that can stay on the field for all three downs but his stock may drop because of his “slow” 4.50 40 and an ACL tear in 2021 that cut his season short. He would be a great complement to Zamir White in the Raiders backfield and his nose for the end zone could be a boon for the Raiders rush offense.
