Raiders 7-round NFL Mock Draft: Securing their franchise QB on Day 1
Defensive tackle went from a glaring need before free agency to a position where some gambles could be taken on guys with high athletic upside but not much spotlight. This description fits James Madison defensive lineman Jamree Kromah who was one of the most productive players at his position in college football.
Kromah is a bit undersized at 6-3 and 275lbs but he fits the mold of the modern pass rushing defensive tackle who can also line up outside at defensive end. After four years at Rutgers he transferred to JMU and became a superstar in his second season there. In 2023 he racked up 60 tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss. 11 sacks, and a forced fumble.
The Maryland native was a destructive force in opposing backfields as he used his strength and athleticism to slice through offensive lines and wreck gameplans. He is a player that could easily develop into a rotational defensive lineman for the Raiders and could potentially be a diamond in the rough for this defense. He fits the athletic profile of an edge setting defensive end or a pass rushing defensive tackle and could be deployed all over the line of scrimmage for the Raiders.
