3 position groups the Raiders must add a star to in 2024

The Las Vegas Raiders have a strong roster going into the 2024 offseason, but a star is needed at these three position groups.

2. Cornerback

One of the best moves that Champ Kelly made as interim general manager last year was adding Jack Jones in free agency during the 2023 NFL season. Jones stepped in and became the Raiders CB1 from the get-go, and he will be back in the starting lineup next season.

Nate Hobbs will return as the slot cornerback, and Amik Robertson will be a priority free agent for the Raiders, but this position group needs an influx of talent this offseason. There are quality Day 1 cornerbacks available this draft cycle, like Terrion Arnold, Quinyon Mitchell, Kool-Aid McKinstry, and Cooper DeJean, while free agency is loaded with talent as well.

The Raiders play in the AFC West, a division where they have to see Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert twice a season. In order for them to finally topple the Chiefs for supremecy in the division, they have to take another step forward in the defensive backfield, an area where they saw great growth, especially at safety last season.

I would expect cornerback to be a priority on Day 1 of the 2024 NFL Draft if a run of quarterbacks go early and the Raiders cannot find a way to move up and get one.
