3 Las Vegas Raiders who will turn heads in 2024
By Brad Weiss
2. Michael Mayer
Last year, the Las Vegas Raiders traded up on Day 2 to select Notre Dame star tight end Michael Mayer. In his rookie season, Mayer had to shake off a slow start, but once he got rolling, he looked every bit the part of a possible long-term TE1 for the Raiders.
While Mayer went down with an injury late in the season, the expectation is that he will play a huge role in the Raiders offense in Year 2. Mayer has the catching ability, and blocking ability to be a real weapon for the Raiders on offense, which will be needed considering they lost Austin Hooper in free agency this offseason.
Harrison Bryant joined the Raiders to be the team's TE2 this offseason, but this position group is going to run through the former Fighting Irish playmaker. If he can take a leap forward in production, he is going to be someone that opposing defensive coordinators are going to have to gameplan around next season.
