The Las Vegas Raiders' offensive line struggled during the 2025 NFL season and was one of the worst position groups in the entire league. With a new coaching staff in place, improving this group was paramount to success.
A player who particularly struggled in 2025 was DJ Glaze. Glaze allowed 10 sacks last season and looked like a player the Raiders could replace in free agency. However, Las Vegas brought in a new offensive line coach in Rick Dennison, who they believed could get the most out of Glaze.
Dennsion liked Glaze’s length and his potential as a starting right tackle in the NFL; he said so multiple times this offseason. His belief and coaching style have helped Glaze grow tremendously from year two to year three, as he looked much improved during the 2026 NFL season. And folks are noticing.
DJ Glaze has been the standout on the Raiders' offensive line
During training camp, Glaze had tons of trouble with Maxx Crosby, leaving Raider Nation wondering how he would perform as a starter. Then a rough joint practice against the Houston Texans didn’t help his cause.
But everything has changed since the season started. Glaze has been the most consistent player on the offensive line in both the run and pass game. He ranks eighth in the league in pass-block win rate and has formed arguably a top-ten tandem with Kolton Miller.
Glaze has the best pressure rate allowed so far this season, coming in at less than 1%. He doesn't care about his stats, though, and wants to keep impressing his coaches.
“I don’t look at any of that stuff, I look at the grades (our coaches) give us," Glaze said. "But I don’t look at any numbers. I just try to trust the timing and play with confidence. A lot of it comes down to that."
He has also impressed his coaching staff. Andrew Janocko raved about Glaze during his press conference on Thursday, stating that he loves his work ethic and mindset and thinks his approach bleeds into to the rest of the offensive line.
"He’s a tremendously hard worker; someone who’s a smart football player and shows up every day to work," Janocko said. "But that’s the mindset of that whole group and what we’re trying to achieve with them. They all come in and put their heads down and go to work. That’s their mindset and what they want to be.”
Glaze’s growth has been huge for this offense and could lead to him receiving a big contract in the not-so-distant future if he keeps it up. Hopefully, Glaze continues his play through most of the season and stays consistent after a hot start.
