With the first six weeks of the 2026 NFL season now in the rearview mirror, the hot takes and knee-jerk reactions have died down a bit. One-third of the campaign is enough to form measured opinions of the Las Vegas Raiders and their players, and this team is still learning about itself and adjusting.

Not every story or development makes the mainstream media, though. Fans know the discourse about the running game and the defensive issues; however, not every important storyline or bit of news is deemed worthy of its own post or announcement.

Sometimes, things just need to be covered quickly.

And that is what we aim to do here with this Silver and Black news roundup. Plenty goes on in the dark or doesn't get its proper due, so let's catch you up on all of what's happening in Las Vegas. We'll even throw in some Week 6 awards while we're at it!

Practice squad moves

Following Sunday's loss, the Raiders made a handful of practice squad moves on Monday. They signed offensive tackles Amari Kight and Darian Kinnard and released offensive lineman Evan Neal and tight end Chris Myarick in corresponding moves.

Neal was added just before the season, and because he was the No. 7 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, fans loved the idea of a flyer on him. But things never panned out for him in Las Vegas, and almost as quickly as he arrived at Raiders HQ, he is now gone.

Myarick was added in early August and found his way onto the practice squad after getting the boot on cutdown day, and he was actually active for the first two games as Brock Bowers dealt with an injury. But the looming return of Carter Runyon has likely deemed him expendable at this point.

Kight split his collegiate career between Alabama and UCF before landing with the Seattle Seahawks as a UDFA last year. He mainly hung around on the practice squad but actually got to play in four regular-season games and logged 17 offensive snaps in the playoffs. Kight is a Super Bowl champ.

Kinnard was a fifth-round pick in 2022 and spent two years with the Kansas City Chiefs before bouncing around with several teams, including the Philadelphia Eagles. Several Raiders execs were obviously in Philly when Kinnard was there back in 2024.

More recently, Kinnard played in all 17 games for the Green Bay Packers in 2025, including four starts. He has been fairly average in pass protection during his short career but is a good run blocker, and Kinnard has been a part of three Super Bowl-winning teams as well.

Quick Hitters

Raiders one of most watched games again

CBS Sports PR announced on Tuesday that the Raiders and Bills game helped them deliver the most-watched program of the week on any network. If fans remember, Las Vegas' Week 4 game against the Chiefs was the most-watched, so the Silver and Black now hold two of the top four spots this year.

Rams short staffed for Week 7 bout in Las Vegas

Los Angeles was already going to be without superstar Myles Garrett, but their injury attrition worsened in Week 6. Davante Adams, defensive tackles Kobie Turner and Poona Ford will not suit up for the Rams in Week 7 against the Raiders. They will have left tackle Alaric Jackson back, however.

CJ Gardner-Johnson suspended

After spitting on Raiders star tight end Brock Bowers, Bills safety CJ Gardner-Johnson has rightfully been suspended after his ejection on Sunday.

Week 6 awards

MVP: Tre Tucker

How can it not be the man who led the team in receiving yards and caught both touchdown passes from Kirk Cousins? Tucker continues to make his case for a long-term extension in Las Vegas, and while the Raiders still need a true No. 1 wideout, Tucker is proving capable of being a good No. 2.

Most surprising performance (good): Michael Mayer

Mayer was the heartbeat of the offense, particularly in the first half. Bowers was slow to get going, but his counterpart more than picked up the slack and turned in an incredible seven-catch, 95-yard outing. He out-produced Bowers as well, which makes Mayer our most surprising good performance.

Most surprising performance (bad): Tyler Linderbaum

Linderbaum has quietly struggled at times throughout the season, but things reached a breaking point on Sunday. Second-year player Deone Walker had his way with Linderbaum, and the center whiffed on several blocks in the run game and allowed two quarterback hits. Not his best work.

Best post-game quotes

Klint Kubiak's opening statement after the loss to Buffalo hit on all the perfect notes:

"I just want to say [I am] very disappointed. Very disappointed that we didn't get it done today. Credit to Buffalo; they played a great game. As a team, we did not close the game, and there's plenty of improvement. But we are not satisfied with any moral victories, and we're a 3-3 football team with everything ahead of us."

Kirk Cousins continues to prove that he is a great leader for this football team:

"All I know to do is go back to work to have candid conversations on Monday that make us better as a football team. To have your process, your habits that get you ready to play well, and then to go through that process to not change anything when you're winning, to not change too much when you're losing. I think the only part you change is when you go back and see where we got to be better, and you emphasize that during the week. But we just got to go back to work and just put the work in and expect that if you do that, that the breaks will fly your way."

Tre Tucker knows this team is different than Raiders squads of the past:

"I've been a part of some games where we weren't very competitive, and just felt like you were out there, just participating. This is more of competition, competing. This is what the NFL is about. Every game's a one score. A lot of the games are one score games, and very fortunate to be a part of them, which means we're very competitive. But like Coach [Klint Kubiak] said, 'We got to figure out a way to close these games.' We're in all of them, but great teams close. So, that's what we got to get figured out this Wednesday, and hopefully get done this upcoming week."

Kubiak is sick of the team's woes in the third quarter:

"Overall, it's just a complete lack of production. It's really putting us in a bad spot as a team, not getting it done, getting outscored in the third quarter. So, as a coaching staff, we're hard at work trying to identify: What are those common things and what do we need to do to put our players in better position? Because yesterday was a great example of how much it can hurt you, and it did. So, we're looking at our process at halftime, at what we're asking the players to do coming out in the third quarter, and that's a major point of emphasis."
