Previewing the best running back options in 2016 NFL Free Agency for the Oakland Raiders to bolster their running game next season.

Oakland Raiders running back Latavius Murray carried the ball 266 times for 1,066 yards and six touchdowns in 2015, as he became the first Raiders back to eclipse 1,000 yards in a season since Darren McFadden in 2010. Though he was originally selected as an alternate, Murray replaced Carolina Panthers back Jonathan Stewart in the 2016 Pro Bowl.

Despite Murray’s accomplishments in the 2015 season, Oakland still needs to address the running back position this offseason. According to NFL.com, the Raiders finished the 2015 season with the 28th ranked rushing offense, as they averaged just 91.1 yards on the ground per game. Of the 10 worst rushing offenses in the league, just the New England Patriots finished with a winning record.

Before he can address the need with the draft, look for GM Reggie McKenzie to allocate a portion of $74 million in cap space to bring in a veteran running back via free agency.

Here is a list of five free agent running backs Oakland should contact this offseason in order of interest and team fit.
