Aaron Rodgers will be inactive as the Oakland Raiders take on the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Thursday night. Former UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley getting the start in his place.

The Oakland Raiders will be hitting the turf at Lambeau Field looking for another strong preseason performance against the Green Bay Packers, but they will be prepping for the 2016 season without going against one of the best quarterbacks in the league on the other side of the football. The Packers deciding to give Aaron Rodgers another week of rest as the Silver and Black come to town for Preseason Week 2 action.

According to the Packers injury report, Rodgers will be sitting for yet another week for Green Bay. The Packers once again opting to rest their prized quarterback rather than risk a potential preseason injury that would be a heavy blow.

Former UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley will get the start for the Packers in place of Rodgers. Green Bay will also be without veteran pass rusher Julius Peppers and linebacker Clay Matthews as notable inactives from the Raiders opponents tonight.

The full list of Packers inactives can be viewed below.

Despite the fact that the Raiders could use the reps against one of the NFL’s top quarterbacks, the absence of Rodgers could give the Oakland defense the opportunity to build some confidence by tearing apart a young quarterback in Hundley who should be up against it tonight. Facing the likes of Khalil Mack, Bruce Irvin, Sean Smith and Reggie Nelson will be no easy task for Hundley as the Raiders defense will certainly be smelling blood in the water as they look to make a statement against a Packers first team that will be missing plenty of key players in this preseason tilt.
