#5 Oakland Raiders: Ra’Shede Hageman, DT Minn

Rory’s Take: I doubt the Raiders actually take Hageman at five, but this simply highlights the fact that their best option is to trade down then take the best defensive lineman available.  Hageman had a solid Senior Bowl week and is versatile even though his best fit by far is a three technique. I have discussed how the Raiders want their defense to reflect Seattle’s in its versatility making this guy a natural fit.

Chase’s Take: This is a spot where the Oakland Raiders will have to seriously consider going with a starting quarterback in either Teddy Bridgewater or Derek Carr over a pass rusher which is also a major need for the Raiders. If they do go with a pass rusher Hageman, who has been lighting up the Senior Bowl practices is a player I am super high on currently. The tall, big, and talented defensive tackle is a player that I could see easily vaulting into the Top 10. I have my eyes on Hageman jumping up the draft and the Raiders could build their pass rush and run defense down the middle at the same time with the most dominant defensive tackle in the draft. The fact they could potentially trade down to do so makes the move even more enticing.
