#1 Houston Texans: Zach Mettenberger, QB LSU
Rory’s Take: Regardless of the injury, Mettenberger is a talented big armed quarterback that easily could be the future of the Texans. As previously mentioned, O’Brien wants a big strong quarterback that can chuck the ball around and that is what he does best.
Chase’s Take: This is an interesting move, but I think that Mettenberger’s injury and the failed Case Keenum trial will keep the Texans away from trying to go cheap at QB. Besides, the Texans could try to gamble to at least the third round for a shot at Aaron Murray or Mettenberger. I think both Mettenberger/Murray will come out and start in the NFL one day after having their senior years cut short, but both might fall outside of the second round.
