Oakland Raiders fans are used to having to deal with playing with one of the lowest overall teams when they play with their beloved Silver and Black on Madden, but after spending money on veteran players this offseason and hitting a home run in the first round with Khalil Mack fans of the Raiders will be disappointed to discover how low the 2014 Raiders will be rated overall when the game is released in late August.
Wednesday marked the release of the team ratings for the AFC West and the Raiders overall is the lowest in the division at 72 overall. Lower than the next closest team by a full ten overall ratings.
As expected the Broncos will be one of the highest rated teams in the game initially with a 90 overall, but it was a surprise to see the Chargers getting a higher overall rating than the Chiefs after Kansas City lost several faces from their AFC Wild Card team last season while the Chargers look to build off of making the AFC Divisional Playoffs last season.
Madden ratings are a fun offseason distraction while we all wait for the preseason to hit full swing, just like fantasy football. However it is doubtful many Raiders fans who play the game will count finding out that the team will be in the low 70’s to start the game as one of the lowest rated teams as something that will get them excited for the release of the game. If you are planning on repping the Raiders online this season you better be bringing your A game to pull of upsets over gamers who will be picking the stacked virtual rosters as always.
